NIH Research Festival 2025

I co-instructed a workshop at the NIH Research Festival 2025 entitled “Geospatial for Everyone: Enhancing Your “Non-spatial” Research with Geospatial Data” with Dr. Nathaniel MacNell. In our workshop, we presented an interactive open-source workflow of geographically linking publicly available data to simulated locations and demonstrated how these data can be used for clinical study design and analysis.

Society for Epidemiologic Research 2024

I co-instructed a workshop at the Society for Epidemiologic Research Annual Meeting 2024 entitled “Git’n up to speed on versioning control.” The workshop was an introduction to the Git language and other Git-enabled technology for epidemiologists to version control their software code.

Lightning Talk at NIEHS Workshop

I presented a lightning talk entitled “Geographic Variation in the Oral Microbiome of NIH-AARP Diet and Health Study Participants” at a National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences workshop entitled Impact of Environmental Exposures on the Microbiome and Human Health held virtually due to the global COVID-19 pandemic.
