2021 Cancer Prevention Fellowship Merit Award

I received an annual Merit Award from the National Cancer Institute (NCI) Division of Cancer Prevention Cancer Prevention Fellowship Program (CPFP) that recognizes scientific productivity, leadership, and exemplary service to the CPFP, NCI, National Institutes of Health, and other outside organizations in cancer prevention.

New Web Application "Spatial Power" launched

Spatial Power is a web application that calculates the power for spatial statistics. Currently, the tool has one module for the spatial relative risk function.

Lightning Talk at NIEHS Workshop

I presented a lightning talk entitled “Geographic Variation in the Oral Microbiome of NIH-AARP Diet and Health Study Participants” at a National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences workshop entitled Impact of Environmental Exposures on the Microbiome and Human Health held virtually due to the global COVID-19 pandemic.

Invited Presentation for the DCEG Geospatial Analysis Working Group

Dr. Derek Brown and I presented our “Spatial Power” webtool for the NCI Division of Cancer Epidemiology and Genetics January 2021 monthly Geographic Analysis Working Group meeting. Spatial Power is an upcoming webtool to calculate power for spatial statistics. Stay tuned for its launch.

New CRAN Package {envi}

My third R package is published in the Comprehensive R Archive Network named envi. It estimates the ecological niche using presence/absence data and the spatial relative risk function via the sparr package. See the public Github repository for more details.

Society for Epidemiologic Research 2020

I presented my abstract entitled “Geographic variation in the oral microbiome of Agricultural Health Study applicators” at the Society for Epidemiologic Reserach 2020 annual meeting held virtually due to the global COVID-19 pandemic.

New CRAN Package {gateR}

My second R package is published in the Comprehensive R Archive Network named gateR. It estimates clustering of cytometry cells using markers and the spatial relative risk function via the sparr package. See the public Github repository for more details.
